John Starr, Jr.

John Starr, Jr, age 81 of Southgate, passed away September 22nd, 2021. Born December 5, 1939 in Wyandotte to the late John and Mary Ellen Starr. Dear uncle of Alvin (Pam) Szczepaniak, John (Lisa) Szczepaniak, John (Tamara) Starr, Michaelene (Dave) Alexander, Mary (Rich) Bradd, Shannon (Steve) Fuller, Amy (Ken) Crum, and Lewis (Robin) Gregory. Also survived by 20 great nieces and nephews, 18 great-great nieces and nephews, with 2 more due soon, his special friend Frederica Hanmore, and loving dog, Madison. Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by sister and brother-in-law Judith and Alvin Szczepaniak, Sr., brother Jerome Starr, and niece Debbie Gregory. John was a teacher in the Southgate School System for over 40 years and a devoted member of Stewart Road Church of God in Monroe. His kind heart and great sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will take place on Tuesday September 28th, 2021 from 2:00pm-9:00pm, at the Trenton Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd.
