John J. Billock

John J. Billock, age 79 of Monroe, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Born July 13, 1943 in Monroe, John was the son of John and Orlanda “Dolly” Billock. A 1961 graduate of Catholic Central, John faithfully served our country in the United States Army. He married Dianna Lambert in 1966. He then was married to Elwanda Heck on October 28, 1977. Sadly she preceded him in death April 9, 2017. John worked for Monroe County Mental Health for over 17 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and then St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. John enjoyed socializing and playing bingo at Frenchtown Place Apartments where he lived. He served as Committee Member, Sargent at Arms and Assistant Secretary. John also served in the Army National Guard. John leaves to cherish his memory his children: Shelly (Don) Peyton, Lisa (Rick) Varney, Tina (Rich) Siler, Ricky Blanchett, David (Debbie) Blanchett, Pam (Greg) Baehr and Valerie (Robert) Cartwright; as well as 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife Elwanda, he was preceded in death by a brother Michael Billock and a sister-in-law Linda Billock.
