John Arble

John Arble, born 4/27/1926 in Pennsylvania, died 1/17/2015. He graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in River Rouge, class of 1944. The day after graduation, John enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific during World War II. He was employed in 1948 by Wyandotte Chemicals (BASF) and retired in 1991. During his career John traveled the world and served as Hunt Master at Fighting Island, both jobs he truly loved. John was a Life Member at Grosse Ile Golf & Country Club and one year was voted Sportsman of the Year. In 1947, John married his high school sweetheart, Dorothy "Penny". He was the proud father of 8 sons and 1 daughter, the grandfather of 24, great grandfather of 19 and great great grandfather of 1.
