Joan Margie Nichols

Joan was born on September 15, 1937 at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital in Michigan to Vance E. Webb of Michigan and Villa Marjory Setterington of Canada. Joan weighed 6 pounds and 3 ½ ounces at birth. She graduated from Grosse Ile High School in 1955, was voted "Best Figure" and also "Class Debater". Joan belonged to the Gibraltar Jaycee's and in 1970 was voted their Outstanding Young Woman of the year. Joan retired from Monsanto, now known as Solutia. From April 27, 1957 - 1979 she was married to Almon Ross Knight. September 21, 1990 she married James Harvey Nichols. Loving mother of William (Marianne), Steven (Sheryl), Susan Knight-Rose (Daniel Rose) and Kim Nichols-Trojniak (Duane Trojniak). Proud grandmother of Misti Knight-Fritz, Chaz Knight, April Boomer, Lauren Boomer, Jason Barko, Jennifer Knight, Joshua Knight, Glenn Knight, Catherine Knight, Felicia Rose-Jones, Sarah Trojniak, Michelle Trojniak and Ashley Trojniak. Great grandmother of Kevin Fritz, Karli Fritz, Iley Knight, Emlyn Knight, Jaylen Paige Knight, Ellason Jones, and Clara Jones. Visitation is on Monday December 12, 2016 from 4 pm until the time of the funeral service at 7 pm, both at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd., Trenton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Humane Society. Private Interment, Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery.
