Born in Toledo, Ohio, Joan was the daughter of Eugene & Ethel (Aldridge) White. She was a cheerleader at Bedford High School. Joan Married Walter Godlewski and together they lived in Erie. Sadly he preceded her in death. As a single parent, her career consisted of raising her family while employed as a secretary at a materials handling firm in Toledo. She later moved to Port Richey, Florida where she successfully managed a jewelry franchise for several years. After moving to Atlanta, Georgia, Joan was awarded recognitions for an exceptional job in property management. She retired to Clearwater, Florida and eventually moved to Monroe to be close to her daughters. She always enjoyed the company of her family, friends and loved being near lakes and oceans. Joan enjoyed boating, traveling and became an Atlanta Braves Fan. Joan leaves to cherish her memory her daughters: Sherry (John Kesling) Godlewski of Lambertville and Shelly Godlewski of Monroe; a brother David (Diane) White of Forest Hills, California; a sister Luanne (Bob) White-Faulkender of Atlanta, Georgia; as well as two grandchildren: Brent Wright of Indiana and Kendall Bellestri of Alaska. In addition to her parents and husband Walter, Joan was preceded in death by a son Steven Godlewski. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider her children to help offset expenses In accordance with Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of the Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, Monroe. She was last here for Jigs dinner, less than a week prior to hospitalization. We had a nice time and we will always carry these precious memories in our hearts at the lake. Their will be a variety of activities including food and beverages. For the out of Town travelers we will provide various sleeping arrangements from cottage to tent for the rustic individuals.
