Joan E. Miruzzi was born on August 25, 1944 in Wyandotte, Michigan and passed away on February 12, 2024 at the age of 79; she was of Southgate. Beloved wife of the late Frank. Cherished mother of Jennifer (David) Lambert and Allison Miruzzi. Dearest sister of the late Lorraine, the late Jack, the late Walter (the late Mickey), Jim, Tom (the late Bernie), the late David and to his wife Louise, Dorothy, Chuck and Ralph (Elizabeth). Joan loved her many nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. She will be missed by her grand dogs, Finnegan and Maddie. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was an active member of the Rosary Altar Confraternity. Her family was her love in life; she enjoyed going to many family gatherings throughout the years. Joan will be dearly missed. Visitation is on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 2 pm – 9 pm with a Rosary on Friday at 7 pm at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard). Joan will lie in state on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11:30 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Southgate until the time of the Funeral Liturgy which will begin at 12 noon. Memorial contributions to honor her life may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, American Cancer Society or Capuchin Soup Kitchen. The family encourages visitors to choose if they wish to wear a mask or not.
