Jerry W. Vimr

Jerry W. Vimr, of Allen Park, passed away September 7, 2022 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Donna. Dear father of Mark (Bill Novak) Vimr. Stepfather of Robert Wiley, Angel Wiley, and the late Steven (Chris) Wiley. Step-grandfather of Justin, Jordan, Jacob and Jesse. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Lillian, and his brothers John Vimr and James (Geraldine) Vimr. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and other loving family members. Jerry proudly served on the Allen Park Fire Department for 27 years before retiring. He was an avid bowler and bowled on numerous different leagues. He will be deeply missed by many loving family and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude towards the caring staff at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit for their loving service and dedication to Jerry.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 10915 Allen Road, 48101. There will be a scripture service held that evening at the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will commence the following day, Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery in Brownstown Twp. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation or a charity of your choice in Jerry’s honor.
