Born in Detroit, Jerome was the son of William and Marguerite (Meyer) Olleges. He married the love of his life, Nancy Tonkin, on February 29, 1968 in Gibraltar. A veteran of the United States Army, having served overseas in Korea, Gus worked for over 30 years at Detroit Stoker Company, retiring in 1992. He was a life member of the VFW Post 4230 Rock of Gibraltar, life member of the Flat Rock Hiram Lodge 110 Free and Accepted Masons, past member of the Rockwood Moose Lodge and he had attended the First Congregational Church of Rockwood. Gus leaves to cherish his memory, Nancy, his wife of the past 48 years; a daughter Geraldine (Harry) Salsberry and a step-daughter Nanette (John III) Labadie; four grandchildren: Virginia (Christopher) Adam, Stephanie Salsberry (Christopher Woodward), Jennifer (David) Mundt, and John Labadie IV (Candice DeMoines); as well as many nieces and nephews. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Betty Behrendt. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Foundation.
