Jeffrey M. Deneau

Jeffrey M. Deneau, of Trenton, Michigan passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at the age of 66, after a relatively short bout with cancer. Jeffrey is survived by: his partner of 7 years Lisa Bogenschutz, and her son Kenneth Benage; his mother Joan (Chastain) Deneau; brother Tim (Mary Gombos) Deneau; sister Carol M. Kermans (Jacques V. Asselin); and brother Kyle (Ann Ochs) Deneau. He will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Jeff was preceded in death by his father Belmont “Lefty” Deneau and his beloved nephew Aaron. Jeff graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Master’s degree in Social Work choosing a career as a behavioral therapist. He loved to interact with people; he could talk but most importantly he could listen. He was analytical and logical, yet at the same time sensitive to others, having a finely honed sense of intuition. Many clients became lifelong friends. He was well loved for his graceful and caring nature. Music has always been an integral part of his life. He played the flute, the sax, and the keyboard. He had a massive collection of albums, tapes, and CDs. Jeff also loved to swim and faithfully swam daily, his moment of peace and renewal. Jeff other interests included tennis and cooking. A loss that cannot be adequately expressed in words. Jeff will be lovingly remembered and missed. May he rest in peace.
