Jeanette Cecelia Clark, age 97 of Monroe, passed away January 31, 2025.
Born January 18, 1928 in Monroe, Jeanette was the daughter of Carl and Myrtle (Busik) Hanf. A graduate of Monroe High School, she attended Monroe County Community College and then Concordia University. Jeanette was married to Howard Smith in 1947. Sadly he preceded her in death in 1974. She then married Leo Benson who also preceded her in death. Jeanette then married John Clark who passed away in 2005. A dedicated homemaker, she also had worked at North Monroe Greenhouse, Alma Plastics and the Monroe Evening News. Jeanette was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, she was a Certified Clown, enjoyed quilting, playing cards and coloring, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family.
Jeanette leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Valerie Michalski and Frances Baker; as well as 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Clara Meyers.
A celebration of Jeanette’s life has been planned under the care of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes-Allore Chapel; 203 E. Elm Ave. Friends may call Monday from 10am until the funeral service at 1:00pm. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at Trinity Lutheran Church
