Walter "Jay" was born on April 18, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan and died on August 4, 2020 at Beaumont Hospital Trenton at the age of 77; he was of Southgate. Beloved husband of Hope. Loving step dad of Rick (Kandy) Harris, Jean Fitzgerald, Tony Harris, Lisa Bradley, Hope (Kevin) Beseau and Dawn (Greg) Stewart. Dearest Papa Jay to his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Also survived by other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Elenora (nee: Roach) Wesch. Walter was a graduate of Allen Park High School; he proudly served his County in the United States Army and recently retired from Mercy High School in Farmington Hills, Michigan. His family was his love in life; he also loved to play drums and Loved Jazz music. For forty years he entertained communities as part of the Tommy James Band. A memorial gathering is on Friday, August 7, 2020 from 12:30 pm until the time of the Service which will be at 4 pm, both at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard). Memorial contributions to honor Walter’s life may be made to the Michigan Humane Society or as the donor chooses.
