Janet L. Brant

Janet L. Brant, age 80 of Maybee, passed away December 23, 2022 at Hampton Manor in Dundee with family at her side.

Born August 1, 1942, in Maybee Janet was the daughter of Russell and Cora (Torisk) Liedel. She married the love of her life, February 13, 1960. Sadly Carl preceded her in death October 4, 2019. A dedicated homemaker, Janet enjoyed bowling and had been inducted into the Michigan Women's Bowling Association Hall of Fame. She taught ceramics, and loved gardening, and the casino's. When they retired they made their home in Mancelona Michigan.

Janet leaves to cherish her memory her children: James (Nancy) Brant, Leannda (Matt) Bruck, Pam Gardner, and Paul Brant; 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; as well as 7 siblings; Russell Liedel, Karen Crossman, Bette Kroeger, Lenore (Dave) Miller, Rodney Liedel, Lynette (Rick) Himebaugh, and Priscilla (J.C.) Harmon. In addition to her parents and her husband Carl, she was preceded in death by Sons Lary M.,and Carl F. , a granddaughter Chelsea Bruck and a sister Mary Ann Dean.

In accordance with Janet's wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes-Lieldel Chapel. A memorial service will take place at 11am May 20, 2023 at Divine Grace Parish-St. Joseph Church in Maybee.
