James Ross Bertram, 67, of South Rockwood, Michigan, formerly of Brimley, Michigan, passed away on June 6, 2020 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He was born in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan the son of Allen and Dorothy Bertram on March 6, 1953. Jim graduated from Brimley High School, class of '71. He retired from International Union of Operating Engineers Local 324 after 40 years of service. Jim (aka Big Daddy and Boston) is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Margaret (Toon) Bertram. His mother, Dorothy Bertram, of Brimley, Michigan. His children Heather (Don) Carlson of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Greg (Tracy) Bertram of Brimley, Michigan. His grandchildren Brendon, Alli, Dylan (Samantha), Kiley and Klaire, and great granddaughter, Scottland, who all loved him. His brother Vern (Sherry) and sisters Janet and Ann (Pat). He is preceded in death by his father, Allen Bertram, and sister, Gwen Holdsworth. Jim enjoyed ALL sports, especially the Detroit Red Wings and NASCAR. He also enjoyed fishing, traveling and volunteering (volun-told) at the VFW in Wyandotte, Michigan. He loved to spend time with his wife, who was the love of his life, and vacationing with his children. His grandchildren adored him and looked forward to spending time with him especially because of his comical antics like barking and calling people Jackie. He will be forever loved and missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Henry Ford Cancer center or another cancer organization. In addition, there will be a celebration of life in Brimley, Michigan; the time and place to be announced.
