Jim was born into eternal life on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the age of 51. He is survived by his beloved wife Julie, their 3 sons, Patrick (23), Liam (17), and Braden (16), his father Kenneth, twin brother Joe, brother Ken, brother Kevin (Tammy), sister Kathleen, brother-in-law Jeff (Kerry), nieces and nephews Jessica, Brooke, Julia, Jack, Drew, Karly, and Justin. Jim is preceded in death by his beloved mother Sheila, his grandparents Joseph and Rose McGuckin and Raymond and Sophie Bazner, his mother-in-law Janell Madden, brother-in-law Jeff Gaynier, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jim was an ultimate family man. Everything he did was to serve, protect, and provide for his family. Jim met his wife Julie in high school and they were blessed with 26 years of marriage. During this time, they traveled and lived abroad in England and then returned back to Trenton where they would settle in to raise their three sons. Jim was such a proud father and he cherished every moment with each of them. He especially loved their times together playing golf, fishing, and watching them grow up playing hockey, basketball, and baseball through the years.
Jim had a very distinguished 27 year career as a global automotive executive. He had a long list of professional accomplishments and he was always very well respected by his peers. He also served as a Board Member for Dearborn Federal Credit Union and for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Jim was actively involved in his community throughout the years as a member of the Trenton Rotary Club, former President of the Trenton Hockey Association, and he was also a former Councilman for the City of Rockwood, Michigan.
Jim was extremely passionate about his Irish heritage. He followed closely in his mother Sheila’s footsteps with his love of Ireland and especially Irish music. He visited Ireland many times throughout his life and he cherished the very close connection he had with his many Irish relatives.
Jim was a natural born leader. His passion for leadership and serving others was the driving force behind everything he accomplished in his life. He left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him with his charming personality, competitive spirit, strong will, generous heart, contagious laugh, and his beautiful smile.
Jim leaves behind a tremendous legacy of faith, family, and friendship that will continue on for generations yet to come. He poured his heart and soul into everything that he did and he left this world in the same giving manor by becoming an organ donor and helping to give others the precious gift of life. Jim will be sorely missed by all but never forgotten.
