James 'Mac' Mcdonald

Born in Detroit, James was the son of James and Winifred (Emens) McDonald. He married the love of his life, Sherry Moyes, in July of 1994. Sadly she preceded him in death May 16, 2009. Mac dedicated his life to education, having taught school and coached football for many years at Airport Community Schools, Taylor Kennedy High School, and finally Gibraltar Carlson High School, from where he retired. He was part of the inaugural class of the Carlson High School Hall of Fame and a member of the Michigan High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame. Mac leaves to cherish his memory a step daughter Jennifer Moyes; a brother Al (Karen) McDonald; nephew Jim (Anne) McDonald; a niece Melissa (Chas) Sawyer; great nieces and nephews; Gus McDonald, Grady McDonald, Emily Sawyer, Elizabeth Sawyer and Annie Sawyer; as well as his special friends John and Joanie Biedenbach and his "Bud" Hank Smith. In addition to his wife, Mac was preceded in death by a sister Betsy McDonald. In lieu of flowers those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Mac's honor are asked to consider the University of Michigan Transplant Center.
