James Lamar Matthews

James Lamar Matthews was born on September 15, 1937 in Bridgeport, Alabama and went home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2020 at the age of 82; he was of Brownstown Twp. Beloved husband of 61 years to Joan (nee: Blackwell). Loving dad of Vicki (Bob) Perfetti and Pamela Matthews. Proud papa of Sean Winters, Kevin Perfetti, Dean (Caitlin) Winters and Natalie Perfetti. Dearest brother of Forrestine Matthews, Dot McDonald and Judith Matthews. Also survived by his cousins, nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents James Gilbert and Sarah Ann (nee: Martin) Matthews. Visitation is on Saturday, February, 1, 2020 from 10 am until the time of the service on Saturday at 2 pm both at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd., Trenton. Interment will be at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Huron Twp., Michigan. Memorial contributions to honor Lamar’s life may be made as the donor chooses.
