James Joseph Davis, of Southgate, formerly of Detroit, passed away April 23, 2022. Loving husband of Traci, for nine beautiful years. Cherished dad of Alyssa, Tiffany, James Jr., Richard, and Tyler. Proud grandpa of Liliana, Lukas, E.J., Michael, Ever-Lynn and Jasper. Godfather of Khalesei, D.J. and Garrett. Beloved brother of Diane (Tony), Sheri, the late Eugene Jr., Marion (Leo) and many other loving siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene Davis and Mary Creasey, and his in-laws Sandra and Gordon Tacher. He is survived by many nieces, nephews and treasured friends. James loved to golf, barbeque and drive his 1965 Oldmobile Starfire around. He cherished these times, because it was always spent with family and friends. He enjoyed car shows, fishing, Motown and Soul music. He worked as a roofer prior to becoming an iron worker, where he proudly worked for the Iron Workers Local 25 Union for many years. Visitation will be held at The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes- Allen Park Chapel on Friday April 29, 2022 from 1-9pm and Saturday April 30, from 9:30-12:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at the funeral home starting at 12:00 pm. Burial will take place immediately following at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wyandotte.
