James H. Koerber

James H. "Jim" Koerber, Gibraltar, MI. Age 95. Born November 1, 1922 in Detroit to Clarence and Irene Koerber. He died January 28, 2018 in Trenton. He had one brother Jerry (Deceased). Beloved husband of Betty Jean (Holland). Loving Father of James D. "Also Jim", David (Gaye, Deceased), Terry (Mike) Ford, Nancy (Bill) Boyea, Cathy (Dave) Hoffman, Dan (Tammy), Liz (Tom) Mussen. Jim and Betty had 19 Grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Jim was a proud WWII P51 Fighter Pilot in the 8th Air Forces. 479 Fighter group in Europe. The Koerber Family had been Brewers for Several Generations so after the war Jim completed his education as a Master Brewer at The Siebel Inst. of Tech, Chicago, Ill. He then became Brewmaster of The Friars Ale Brewing Co., Port Huron, MI. After the brewing business he worked in insurance, real estate and home improvement. During his years in Gibraltar, he was a member of The Zoning and Planning Commission for 24 Years and also served on several other committees. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to The Gibraltar Recreation Fund, to be used for the 4th of July parade. Jim was passionate about the parade as his wife, Betty was instrumental in starting the annual parade and celebration. Visitation, Wednesday, 2:30-9 PM and funeral service, Thursday 10 AM at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd. Interment with military honors in Gibraltar Cemetery.
