James Edward Salliotte, son of the late Raymond and Antoinette Salliotte was born on October 4th, 1949. He departed this life on Thursday November 14th, 2024. Jim was born and raised in Ecorse, Michigan and later moved to Woodhaven, Michigan to start and raise his beloved family.
Jim received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He worked and retired from United Technologies, where he applied his love of hard work and attention to detail. On the topic of love, Jim was married to his high school sweetheart, Rosalinda (Muniz) Salliotte, for 53 years. Jim also had a great love of the outdoors, which he shared over many years with such organizations as Boy Scouts of America and Huron High School Outdoor Challenge. His hard work and attention to detail can be seen in his involvement and dedication in volunteering with Knights of Columbus -Robert H. Jones Council #3078. He was a member of the Our Lady of the Woods parish, where he was an usher.
Jim will be greatly missed by those who love him. He leaves to cherish his loving memory: Three children, Jay (Monika) Salliotte, Nina (Joe) Lengyel and Becky Salliotte. Five grandchildren, Aiden, Emma, Juliana, Eve and Maya. Two sisters, Rose (Ron) Klabon, Anne (Bob) Pruchniewski. Six brothers, Ray (Jean) Salliotte, Dave (Sandy) Salliotte, Norman (Sharon) Salliotte, Bill (Liz) Salliotte, Bob (Janice) Salliotte. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Dan Salliotte.
Visitation will be held on Sunday November 17th at the Martenson Funeral home-Allen Park location, 10915 Allen Rd Allen Park, MI 48101. Hours 1pm to 8pm. Funeral mass to be held at St. Andre Bessette Parish, 4250 W Jefferson Ave, Ecorse, MI 48229, 10am.
