James Donald Taylor

James Donald Taylor, age 65 of South Rockwood, passed away July 30th, 2024.

Jim was raised in Taylor Township, the son of Helen (Wieleba) and the late Donald E. Taylor. He attended Taylor Schools until 1970 when the family moved to Newport. There, he attended Airport Schools until 1976, living in “Dad’s Dream Home '' on the corner of Labo and Dixie Hwy (Nancy’s Corner).

After graduation, Jim did various jobs; carpentry, groundskeeping at Lilac Golf Course, quality control at Vulcan Mold and Fermi II, where he met up with his high school friend and future wife, the late Tammy Hollister.

Jim and Tammy married in June of 1987 and bought Grampa Reaume’s old house, where together they raised 2 sons, Kelsey and Cody.

Jim started work with Chrysler Corp. in 1994 until retirement July 1, 2020.

Jim and the boys tragically lost Tammy in December 2015. Though it was rough, they managed to pull together.

Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory, sons Kelsey, Cody, and grandson Cash. Siblings Paul (Cathy), John (Norma), Terry (Sharon), Brian (Rose), and Cynthia (the late Art) Vogler.

In addition to his father and wife, Jim was preceded in death by a nephew Victor Vogler.
