Jacquelyn “Jackie” Abraham, born October 28, 1941, passed away peacefully
on January 17, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of joy, love, and unforgettable
memories. She was 83 at the time of her passing.
Jackie was raised in Ecorse Michigan by her loving parents Joseph Horgas,
Elaine LeBlanc and her step father Adolf LeBlanc. Being raised in a one child
family, Jackie enjoyed the boundless attention that she would later deliver to her
own family. Jackie was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Ronald, for 43 years,
until his passing 15 years ago. Their enduring love for each other was evident to all
who knew them, and Jackie carried the memory of their shared life with great
love and affection. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their friends
but most of all supporting their family. Jackie also learned how to be a part of
a large (and often loud) Lebanese family. Jackie fit right in as she went from a
single child home to a large extended family.
Jackie is survived by her children Ronnie with his wife Gorgina, Danny with
his wife Marie and Lori with her husband Terry. Her children and their spouses
loved her dearly and spent a great deal of time with her. If there was ever a
person who was deeply involved in her childrens and grandchildrens lives,
Jackie Abraham was that person. All three of Ron and Jackie's children feel
blessed to have had incredibly loving and supportive parents.
Jackie truly cherished spending time with her four grandchildren. Kellilyn and
Madelyn, Ryan, and Amanda were the joys of her life. “Grandma” made a
strong point to be an integral part of each of her grandchildren's lives and they
enjoyed every minute of it. She attended their events, supported their goals
and always let them know that grandma loved them. She did a good job of
spoiling them as well.
Jackie lived an exciting and energetic life, filled with vitality and zeal. Whether
through her commitment to regular exercise, her boundless social circle, or
her deep devotion to family, she inspired everyone around her. With a positive
attitude, Jackie had a special gift for making people feel good about
themselves, and her warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone
she met. For example, Jackie’s large group of girlfriends was impressive. They often
met out for dinners, enjoyed card parties, tried their luck at the casino or were
fans at a baseball or a hockey game. Jackie cherished her strong
relationships and never let distance hinder the time they enjoyed together.
Jackie’s love for her friends was mutual.
Most importantly, Jackie had incredible faith in Jesus. She found comfort with
the Catholic Church nurturing her relationship with God by attending mass
every Sunday. Her faith was a large and important part of her life.
For those who are reading these words, please understand that Jackie's
children appreciate you and thank you for your loving part in the extraordinary
life of our mother.
