Jack R. Shoup

Click on the tribute wall above to view Jack's video tribute. Jack Raymond Shoup, of Riverview, Michigan. Passed away peacefully on January 17, 2020 at the age of 92. Beloved husband to Viola for 69 years. Loving dad to Dennis, Jeff and Jim (Sandy). Proud grandpa to Michelle, Dawn, Samantha (Chris), Jacob, Joshua, Jonathan and Sarah. Jack survived by his brother Wayne “Bud” (Joyce) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Ruth and his brother Carl. Jack began his career working at Detroit Edison and then started working at DPW for the City of Riverview before becoming a police officer for the city. He worked his way up the ranks and became Chief of police. He left the police department and became the city manager for the city of Riverview. He then became the landfill director until he retired in 1986.
