Iris R. Eaton

Born January 18, 1920 in Monroe, Iris was the daughter of John & Amelia (Stadelman) Rentschler. She married the love of her life, Dr. Sidney N. Eaton Jr., on March 2, 1946. Sadly he preceded her in death January 27, 2004. A dedicated homemaker, Iris also had worked as an accountant for Buick Motors. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for over 62 years, Monroe Thrift Shop Association for 55 years and Monroe Golf and Country Club for 50 years. She also was active with the Sawyer Homestead, was an avid Bridge player and loved to Golf. Iris leaves to cherish her memory her children: Sidney N. (Mickie) Eaton III of Pierson, Michigan, Ellen Eaton of Lansing; grandchildren: Heather Eaton-Youngs, Sydney N. Eaton IV and Scott J. Eaton; as well as four great grandchildren: Ashley Nowlin, Logan Youngs, Sophia Eaton and Silas Eaton. In addition to her parents and husband, Iris was preceded in death by her twin sister Inis Koch. Friends may call Friday from 3pm until 9pm at the Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm Ave. Funeral services will be Saturday. Iris will lie in state from 11am until a Mass of Resurrection at 12noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow next to her husband in St. Joseph Cemetery.
