Irene M. Steinman

Irene M. Steinman, age 83 of Monroe, entered into eternal rest in the hands of the Lord on December 22, 2022.

Born June 8, 1939 in Royal Oak, Irene was the daughter of Lloyd and Mary (Baker) Anson. A 1957 graduate of Airport High School, she married the love of her life, Joseph D. Steinman Sr., on January 17, 1959. The couple celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage, before he sadly preceded her in death November 13, 2018. A dedicated homemaker, Irene also worked for Greenings Nursery and Dr. Tomlinson in her younger years. She was an active member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, having served on the parish council and the women’s auxiliary. Irene enjoyed gardening and cooking, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Irene leaves to cherish her memory her children: Joseph (Connie) Steinman Jr. and Martha (Jeffery) Falkenberg; four grandchildren: Melissa (Jordan) Smith, Nicole (Carlos Jr.) Ruvalcaba, Olivia (Cameron) Deems and Andrew (Bekki) Steinman; seven great-grandchildren: Emma, Lane, Skylar, Alexa, Benedict, Archibald and Axel; a sister Julie (Lee) Hertzsch and sisters-in-law: Evajane Anson, Betty Jo Steinman, Barbara Richter and Winifred Anderson. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by her three siblings: Phyllis Baxter, Marvin Anson, and Grace Anson.
