Ignatia Concetta Mccarty

June 20, 1921 — May 28, 2024

Ignatia Concetta Mccarty

Born June 20, 1921 in Monroe, Ignatia was the daughter of Publio and Mary (Giarmo) Pancone. She married the love of her life, Lawrence McCarty, on June 19, 1948. Sadly, he preceded her in death in 2009. A dedicated homemaker, Ignatia worked as a cook at Mercy-Memorial Hospital for over 17 years and then at the IHM Motherhouse for 5 years. She was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Ignatia enjoyed making jewelry and cooking, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Ignatia leaves to cherish her memory her children: Michael (Lynda) McCarty, Nicholas McCarty, Patrick (Rhonda Hennessy) McCarty, Mark McCarty and Christina (Frederick) Lietzke; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, with one on the way; and a sister Mary Castiglione. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Catherine Shoemaker; 2 grandchildren and 3 brothers: Anthony Pancone, Jospeh Pancone and John Pancone.
