Huey Joseph Dodd

Huey Joseph Dodd was born on August 12, 1935 in Arab, Alabama and went Home to be with the Lord on July 21, 2024 at the age of 88; he was of Lincoln Park. Beloved husband of the late Jessie Ruth. Cherished father of James (Doris) Dodd, Glenda Stafford and Eileen (Jeff) Wheeler. Proud grandfather of Gayle Dodd, Joseph Dodd, Collin (Miranda) Flynn and Brett Wheeler. Great grandfather of Alanis Dodd, McKinley Flynn and to a great granddaughter due in January 2025. Dearest brother of Jacqueline (the late Barry) Soper. Also survived by many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents James Marion Dodd and Nellie G. Barker and his brothers Roland (Clara) Dodd and Roosevelt Wallace “RW” (the late Mary Magdalene “Dean”) Dodd.

Huey loved the Lord and his desire in life was for all of his grandchildren to be saved. He cherished his family and loved every minute he was able to be with them. Huey retired from General Motors where he served as a welder; he loved to play guitar and sing and also loved Farmall Tractors.

Visitation is on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 10:30 am until the time of the service which will begin on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1 pm both at The Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 10915 Allen Rd. (Corner of Goddard), Allen Park.  Entombment will be at Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions to honor his life may be made to the family.
