Helen C. Sovey

Helen C. Sovey, age 89 of Estral Beach, passed away April 16, 2025.

Helen was the loving daughter of Peter and Olga Bogdanski, and beloved wife to Robert (Bob) Sovey. She was a devoted mother to Robert Sovey and Denise Sovey-Meyer memorable Daughter Rosemary Muir as well as the late Mark Joseph Sovey. Together, she and Bob shared 60 wonderful years of marriage. Helen cherished her role as a grandmother to Erika Sovey, Chase (K’leigh), Mason (Mandy) Sovey, and Kymberlee Flores and as a great-grandmother to Tomas Hackett, Rory, Esme, Briar Sovey. And her Buddy Briggs. She was honored to be the godmother to Michael Zylla, Tommy Bogdanski, Ron Gearheart Jr, and Kenny Lacinski, Her nieces Cynthia Zylla, Sharon Hill and Carol Stempien, nephews Jim Sovey, Ron Gearhart Sr, Michael, Greg (Spider) and Alan (Hodgie) Zylla. Many cousins who she cherished. Helen received exceptional care over the past few years from her dear friends Lisa Reaume, Connie Greca, Barb Blanchette, and Sherrie Stewart. She also deeply appreciated the support from her amazing friends, especially George Kolton, Doug and Kathie Napier, and Jay Johnson, who helped her return to her beloved Home in Michigan. Helen was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Son Mark Sovey, son-in-law Andrew Meyer, grandson Christopher Morin, Sisters Dorothy Bogan and Lottie Zylla, Brother (Popeye) Bogdanski, and four-legged friend “Baby Meyer”, she is leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration.
