Born in Wyandotte, Helen was the daughter of Rudy and Anna (Blazinzich) Paich. She married the love of her life, Edward Mandelka, on December 18, 1943. Sadly he preceded her in death March 23, 1997. A dedicated homemaker, Helen also had worked at the Willow Run Bomber Plant during World War II as a "Rosie the Riveter". She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maybee and the Ash Township Senior Citizens. Helen leaves to cherish her memory her children: Albert Mandelka of Vanderbilt, Louis (Sirena) Mandelka of Carleton, Mary Ann Wooten of New Boston, Donald (Suzanne) Mandelka of New Boston, Edward (Kim) Mandelka of Maybee and William (Gaylene) Mandelka of Adrian; as well as fifteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; four brothers: Alexander Paich of Belleville, Mike (Joyce) Paich of Mooreville, Joseph Paich of Lakeworth, Texas, Steve Paich of San Francisco, California; and five sisters: Zora Spewock of Dundee, Florence Latocki of Milan, Marie Beldner of San Francisco, California, Millie (John) Leach of The Plains, Ohio and Annie (Gary) Knowlton of Colorado Springs, Colorado. In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in death by three sisters: Christina Paich, Catherine Leschinski and Mary Elwart.
