Helen M. Gerweck

Helen Mary Gerweck, 101 of Monroe, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 in her home. Born November 11, 1911 in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, Helen was the daughter of Sebastian and Loretta (Pierantoni) Germani. She married Cyril A. Gerweck in 1939 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Monroe. Sadly he preceded her in death in 1964. Helen and Cyril founded Ida Implement Company-International Harvester Dealership, Ida in 1943 and ran it until1968. A dedicated homemaker, Helen was a member of Christian Mother's Society at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ida and also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Monroe. Helen leaves to cherish her memory her son John L. (JoAnn) Gerweck of Monroe; grandchildren: Julie (Robert) Dazel and John C. (Rebecca) Gerweck of Monroe; great grandchildren: Brittany Dazel, Ashley Dazel, Tiffany Gerweck and Arthur John Gerweck; and a brother Robert Germani of Monroe. Helen is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Cyril, 3 sisters: Orlando "Dolly" Billock, Marjorie Doan and Josephine Germani; and 5 brothers: Gail Germani, Rene Germani, Gene Germani, Mario Germani and Joseph Germani. Private family services have taken place by The Allore Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
