He actively attended Inter-City Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and served on the board as a trustee. He did many things behind the scenes; unbeknownst to many, Caroll and Harold tirelessly planted and maintained the flowers at the church. Family was very important to Harold, he and Caroll were known by the children’s sports teams as “Grandma and Grandpa Daniel” and they made a point to attend all of the sporting events, even long after the children were out of high school. As an engineer, Harold was very good with working with his hands, he mastered the craft of woodworking where he would build countless pieces of furniture. He had the patience of working and creating art with stained glass. He loved to paint and work on graphic design where he would create unique pieces of art. He even went as far as designing houses and making sure the additions would fit perfectly with the existing house and layout.
