Gusto "Gus The Barber" Ginepro

Gusto Ginepro, “Gus the Barber”, age 95 of Monroe, formerly of Maybee, passed away February 27, 2022. Gusto was born February 10, 1927 in Huey, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph and Madeline Ginepro. He proudly served his country during WWII in the Merchant Marines and in the United State Army during the Korean War. In 1953 he married the late Dorothy Boes. Together they had a daughter Janet Ginepro. In addition to his parents and wife, Gusto was preceded in death by his siblings Raymond Ginepro, Fern Browell, and Eleanor Rimer. Gusto was a longtime member of Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church and was known by many as being a barber in Maybee for over 44 years. After retirement, Gusto loved spending time with his good friends at the Monroe Center for Healthy Aging playing cards and dancing. Visitation will take place Friday March 4, 2022 from 1:00PM-8:00PM, Funeral Service Saturday March 5, 2022 11:00am, at the Allore Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 203 E. Elm, Monroe, MI 48162. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to ProMedica Hospice and/or the Monroe Center for Healthy Aging.
