Gregory Joseph Hartman

Gregory Joseph Hartman, age 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He was born November 24, 1949, to Edward Hartman and Stella (Wozny) Hartman, in Detroit. He was a 1968 graduate of Wyandotte Roosevelt High School and Highland Park Community College in 1992. Greg served in the Navy’s Construction Battalion from 1969 to 1971, was stationed in Port Hueneme, Calif., and served three tours in Vietnam. He worked as a pipefitter at McClouth Steel in Trenton as well as at Chrysler’s Trenton Chemical, McGraw Glass, and Trenton Engine plants. He will be remembered for his big heart, strong character, and dedication to his friends and family. He is missed by his wife of 41 years, Denise (Setser) Hartman, son Eric Hartman and daughter-in-law Amber (Smith) Hartman, daughter Amber (Hartman) Carroll and son-in-law Alan Carroll, brothers Phil Hartman and Paul Hartman, grandchildren Isabella and Sophia, and dozens of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. No funeral services will be held. In lieu of flowers, a fund to cover medical expenses has been established by the family.
