Gordon T. Miles Sr.

Gordon T. Miles Sr. age 88, long time resident of Grosse Ile, passed away on January 6th 2021. He was a local business owner, retired lieutenant of the Grosse Ile Volunteer Fire Department, served on the road commission and fire commission, he was a past President of Grosse Ile PTO, and former member of the St. James Vestry. Of all the lives he touched his most proud achievement in life was marrying his wife of 69 years Mildred. He was also survived by his 11 children, Gordon Miles Jr. (Sheila), Veronica (Terry) Baxter, Timothy Miles (Laurie), Valerie (Ronald) Nicholson, Beth Miles (David), Bridget Seeley (Jim), Kevin Miles (Christine), Christopher Miles, Jennifer (Kevin) Dermody, Douglas Miles (Cynthea), Melissa (Scott) Bates, his 18 Grandchildren, Heather, Gordon III (Amy), Benjamin (Jennifer), Luke (Salyna), Daniel, William (Devin), Nicole (Jason), Casey (Katy), Erick (Katie), Heather, Adrienne, Calvin, Terri, Katrina, Sara (Scott), Alex, Jared, and Sam (Savannah), his 24 Great Grandchildren, and his 2 Great Great Grandchildren. He had a love of life and a firm understanding of what is important, the simplicity of living a life with those you love. Memorial contributions in honor of Gordon may be made directly to St. James Episcopal Church on Grosse Ile, MI or to the Grosse Ile Fire Department.
