Glenda Rae Allen of Trenton, Michigan, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010. She was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on January 13, 1936. She was a retired creative writer for Hallmark Cards and was a lifelong Christian and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Trenton, Michigan. Glenda will be especially remembered for her beautiful wit and amazing gift of words. As an English major at Friends University in Wichita, Kansas, she was voted wittiest in her class. Glenda hosted a radio program, "The June Day Show" while she was at KWBB in Wichita. She became a writer for Hallmark in Kansas City. After marrying, and raising her four children in Houston, Glenda moved back to Kansas City to continue doing what she loved most, creating wonderful thoughts and sentiments for others as a senior writer for Hallmark. Glenda is preceded in death by her mother and father, Harold and Eleanora Clark; brothers, Eugene and Alan Clark; former husband, Hershall Allen and a daughter, Angela Allen. Glenda is survived by her children, Mark (Jonaliza) Allen of Hilo, Hawaii, Shelly (Kim) Schutt of Trenton, Michigan and Beth (Andrew) Quartapella of Charlotte, North Carolina; her brother, Reverend James Clark of St. Louis, Missouri; her sister, Sharon Choate of Garrison, Texas and her grandchildren, Gregory, Kayla, Joshua, Olivia, Rosalyn, Nicholas and Michael.
