Gerald A. Nagle passed peacefully on September 9, 2021, in Newburgh, Indiana. He was 88 years old. Jerry was born on April 29, 1933, in Detroit, Michigan, to Hazen and Emma Nagle, the younger brother of Hazen and Marguerite, and older brother to John. He graduated from Melvindale High School in 1951, worked at The Detroit News for over 35 years, and served in the Army at Fort Carson. While in the army, Jerry married his beautiful bride, Margaret (Pistro), and together they had 3 children, Gerald, Judy, and Jennifer, eventually moving back to the Downriver area with many years in both Trenton and Riverview. He had a passion for travel and for enjoying good food. He had many hobbies including gardening, fishing, collecting Depression and Vaseline glass, and collecting trains. Jerry is also remembered for his “field expediency” and ability to fix almost anything. Jerry is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Margaret, and his grandson, Alex. He is survived by his children, Jerry (Cindy) Nagle, Judy (Ken) Walker, and Jenny (Keith) Murphy, 6 grandchildren, Shannon Nagle, Rachel Nagle, Kendra (Nate) Tomich, Ashley (Russ) McKenzie, Emily Murphy (Lawal) and Kaylee Murphy (Mason), and 5 great grandchildren, Zach, Mea, Judy, Margaret, and Aletheia.
