Click on the Tribute Wall tab above to view the recording of Scotty's Memorial Service George William MacDonald ("Scotty") George MacDonald was born on June 17, 1929, to Margaret T. (Murphy) and William J. MacDonald, in Avoca, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Avoca High School in 1947. Married to Ann Kelly on June 18, 1949, Scotty and Ann raised seven children in Wayne, Michigan. While in Michigan, Scotty worked as a Journeyman Machinist at S. & B. Machine Shop, World Mfg., AirGage, and Peerless Gage, before moving to Ocala, Florida in 1991. In 2015, they moved back to Monroe, Michigan, to be near their family in their senior years. He is a member of Moose Lodge #1199, in Silver Springs, Florida, and Moose Lodge #884, in Monroe, Michigan Scotty was one of nine children. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters and brothers-in-law. Marie (Michael) Parry, Rosalie (Len) Cummings, Agnes (Herb) Cunningham, Eleanor (Frank) Wirth, Leona (Frank) Chilek, Joan (Donald) Smerdon, Geraldine (AI) Wilson, and Frank Wirth, as well as a nephew, Ben Chalupka and son-in-law, lack Chalupka, He is survived by one sister, Lois Dills. He is survived by his children: Susan Chalupka, William (Judy) MacDonald, Ann (Gary) Akers, Patrick MacDonald (Cheryl Owens), Thomas (Rozanne) MacDonald, Theresa (Richard) Werth, and Michael (Tina) MacDonald. Scotty also leaves fifteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. (Scotty lived in Jersey City, NJ., for a short time while he completed his apprenticeship to earn his Journeyman's card as a machinist. Then moved to Wayne, Michigan, in the 1950s., where they lived until 1992. At that time, he and Ann moved to Ocala, Fla., where he worked at Winn-Dixie Supermarket for several years. They lived in Ocala until 2015, when they relocated to Monroe, MI, to be near family.
