George Ronald Monk Ii

George Ronald Monk II, age 78 of Gibraltar, passed away July 3, 2022. Born October 12, 1943, George was the son of George and Pearl (Zuk) Monk. A graduate of Taylor Center High School, he then earned a Bachelor Degree from Wayne State University. George married the love of his life, Dorothy Messner, in 1967. Sadly she preceded him in death in 2006. George worked for Ford Motor Company at the Monroe Stamping Plant for over 30 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the UAW. He enjoyed boating and fishing, but his most treasured times were those spent with his family. George leaves to cherish his memory his children: Ronald Monk, Kathy (Anthony) Blatnik and Susan Cashero; three grandchildren: Seth, Michael and Lauren as well as a brother Gary (Linda) Monk. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents. In accordance with George’s wishes, cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Martenson Family of Funeral Homes. Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions in honor of George may be made to the Salvation Army.
