George Escamilla, age 83 of Wyandotte. Passed away September 27, 2024. Loving husband of Shari for 29 wonderful years. Loving father of Karen (Tim) Moore, Andrew (Dan Emerson) Escamilla, Sharon (Dave) Selewski. Beloved Stepfather of Sarah Ziemer, Andrew Ziemer, and Melanie Ziemer. Lovingly referred to as Papa George by his grandchildren Brian, Aaron, Hannah, Julia, Olivia, Jacob, Rebecca, Christopher, Kelsey, Brendan, and Sophia. He is survived by his siblings, Esther, Josefina, Margaret, Robert, Paul, and Sebastian also by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Pablo and Luz Escamilla; and his siblings Ernestine, Eddie, Hank, Mary, and Carmen.
George retired after a lengthy career in computer operations and spent his retired years being active (3.3 Million steps so far this year), golfing with family and friends, volunteering his time and talent with local food pantries, and loved spending time with his family whether running an errand or just a chat. His infectious laughter will never leave our hearts.
Visitation for George will take place on Friday, October 4, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Allen Park Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes located at 10915 Allen Road, 48101. A prayer service will be held that evening at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Most Holy Redeemer Church located at 1721 Junction Ave., 48209. In State 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to take place following services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of George to Grace Church Food Pantry, Henry Ford NICU Miracles on Main project or Fish and Loaves Food Pantry.
