Born September 9, 1947 in Wyandotte, Gaye was the daughter of Norman and Norma (Dell) Sholtz. After graduating from high school, she received her Cosmetology certification, first teaching and later working in several salons. Gaye married the love of her life, John Robert Halley III, in March of 1994. Sadly he preceded her in death September 8, 2018. She enjoyed ceramics and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, but her most treasured times were those spent with her family. Gaye leaves to cherish her memory her children: Kelley (Erick) Knaebel of Warren, Keith (Elaine) Halley of Flat Rock, John (Kim) Halley of Rockwood, Mike (Lynn) Halley of Engelwood, Ohio and Doug (Jean) Haley of Florida; grandchildren: Jessica, Jenna, Katharine, Maverick, Kendrick, Duncan, Faith, Keith, Savanna, Sarah, Cherie, John, Jamie, Ashley, Cheyenne and Samantha; seven great grandchildren: Breanna, Madison, Chloe, Joshua, Valerie, Joel and Delaney; as well as a sister Lynne Sholtz of Lapeer.
