Gary Michael Straka

Gary Michael Straka, age 77 of Monroe, passed away July 30, 2022 at ProMedica Flower Hospital. Born September 18, 1944 in Highland Park, Michigan, Gary was the son of Frank and Dorothy (Ackerman) Straka. A graduate of St. Gabriel High School in Detroit, he married the love of his life, Pamela Gray, on July 3, 1965 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Gary worked for over 30 years with New York Central/Conrail Railroad. He enjoyed walking, watching football and golfing, but his most treasured times were those spent with his family. Gary leaves to cherish his memory, Pamela, his wife of the past 57 years; children: Bill (Heather) Straka, Brian Straka and Mary (Jeff) Mathias; seven grandchildren: Austin Straka, Breanna Straka, Abby Straka, Sarah Straka, Chloe Straka, Jonathan Mathias and Jaclyn Mathias. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents; a son Brian Scott Straka and a brother Dennis Straka.
