Garry G. Little

Garry G. Little, age 72 of Newport, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the IHM Health Care Center in Monroe. Born May 16, 1944 in Detroit, Garry was the son of Harry and Mary (Harron) Little. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from May 28, 1965 until September 30, 1966. Garry then married the love of his life, Jane A. Gonyea, on October 23, 1971in Trenton. After graduation from High School he had worked at Chrysler before entering the Army and returned to Chrysler after his discharge, working there until 1969. In 1969 Garry started his own trucking business, retiring in 2013. He was a Volunteer Fireman for the Woodhaven Fire Department from 1978 until 1984. Garry enjoyed doing yard work and home improvement projects and was an avid car lover. Garry leaves to cherish his memory, Jane, his wife of the past 45 years; children: Larry Little of Newport, Christie (Brian McClellan) Little of Rockwood and Jeanna (George) Vincent of Monroe; seven grandchildren: Tyler, Nathan, Braylen, Abigail, Bethany, Cole and Lisa as well as a great granddaughter Lacey. Sadly he was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call Wednesday from 3pm until 8pm at the Ford Chapel-Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 23620 N. Huron River Dr., Rockwood. Funeral services celebrating Garry's life will be Thursday at 10am from the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Huron Valley Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the charity of Donor's Choice.
