Located in the Marinas Islands, South Pacific. Served in the 20th Air Force flying on B29 Super Fortress Bombers. Served as radio and communications operator. Flew 11 combat missions over Japan. Awarded the Silver Air Crew Wings, Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Asiatic Pacific Medal with two bronze stars, American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Air Force Longevity Ribbon, Air Force Outstanding Ribbon, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and Presidential Unit Citation. Also, the Expert Badge for Piston, Carbine, Rifle and M-1 Machine Guns.
