Fred Dapra

DaPra, FRED. Age 91. March 12, 2009. A resident of Rivergate Terrace and formerly of Allen Park. Born October 25, 1917 in Lozzo di Cadore, Italy, son of the late Antoinetta (Zulian) and Telemaco DaPra. Beloved husband of the late Helen who died in 1987. Also preceded in death by siblings Alida, Geno "Jean" and Gelio "Jerry" DaPra. Loving father of Dennis (Karen). Dearest grandfather of Sarah and Amy. Brother-In-Law of Leona DaPra. Fred was the last of his generation. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II aboard the USS Mississippi, retiring from the USNR in 1977. Fred retired as a foreman from General Motors Turnstead in 1962. In 1963, he returned to work at Ford Motor Company and retired with ten years service. Burial took place March 16, 2009 at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown. Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimers Assn or The Disabled American Veterans.
