Kunz, Frank W; age 76 of Taylor, passed away on Sept. 8, 2006. Frank was born on July 8, 1930 in San Antonio, Texas to Frank A and Lottie Kunz. Beloved husband of Carol; loving father of Margaret (Dave) Douglas, the late Frank 'Butch' W. Kunz, Joseph (Colleen) Kunz. The loving step father of Kim Nagy her significant other Jerry Pickle and daughter Tori and Kit (Joe) Moore. Loving grandfather of Olivia Kunz and Cynthia Kunz, loving step grandfather to Stephen Moore and Melissa Moore and step great grandfather to Camden Moore. Preceded in death by a sister Evelyn Sickbert and a former spouse Kathleen F. Kunz. He enlisted in the Army Air Force at Lackland AFB, TX in June 1946 where he completed his GED and was a Military Training Instructor, Navigational Aids Instructor and was on Special Assignment as a Nuclear Research Officer in Research and Development at McClellan AFB, CA. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi under Operation Bootstrap and received a BS degree in Mathematics and Physics in 1963. Appointed member of Kappa Mu Epsilon and Pen and Sword military fraternity. He retired a SMSGT after 20 years service in 3 wars, WWII, Korean War and the Viet Nam Conflict. After he retired from the Military, he went to Eastman Kodak in New York for 3 years then to Ford Motor Company Scientific Research Laboratory where he retired with 27 years of service. He was a member and on the Board of Directors of ASTM from 1980 to 1982, was appointed Fellow at ASTM in 1977 and was awarded the Award of Merit. He coached Little League in Taylor as well as coaching his sons football teams in Taylor and considered them his finest achievements in life. He truly loved baseball and football.
