Frank R. Kropik

Frank was born on November 13, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan and died on September 7, 2017 at the age of 91; he was of Woodhaven and formerly of Melvindale. Beloved husband of 66 years to Mary Lou. Loving dad of Tom (Nancy), Roslyn (Rich) Moe, Susan (Steve) Williams and Christine (Todd) Wilhelmi. Dearest papa of 9 and great papa of 8. Also survived by his nieces, nephews, other loving family and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Anna (nee: Dorsch) Kropik, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Frank proudly served his Country in the United States Navy and was a firefighter for the city of Melvindale. He was a member of the Robert Jones Council Knights of Columbus in Lincoln Park and actively supported many Veterans organizations by selling lottery tickets. Visitation is Sunday from 1 - 9 pm with a Vigil Service at 6:30 pm and a K of C Rosary at 7 pm all at The Trenton Chapel of The Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd., Trenton. Frank will lie in state on Monday at 9:30 am at St Joseph Catholic Church, Trenton until the Funeral Liturgy at 10 am which will be followed by a Downriver Veterans Honor Guard Service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Trenton or may be made payable to the Woodhaven Firefighter Association, 23040 Hall Rd., Woodhaven, MI 48183. Attn: Capt. Myles.
