Frank E. Sall

The Trenton community lost one of its most beloved citizens on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 when Frank Edward Sall suddenly passed away at the age of 56. He was always that person who any neighbor, friend, or family member could call upon at a moment’s notice. If you were ever in need, he was always there to lend a hand. It was never too late, too far, or too big of a request for Frank. Many called him a saint for his kindness and devotion to serving others, but he was also a saint for gracefully walking the path that he was given in life when he was born into a family of one son and five daughters. Oh how his sisters adored him, loved him, smothered him, bossed him around, and idolized him. He was the lone brother who made their family special. He was always there to listen, to give advice, to tease, to lend money (charging interest, of course!), to ground them, and to be their escape from all of that estrogen. Frank’s deep entrenchment in a home full of women taught him how to find the ultimate wife, Karen Maguire, while they attended the University of Michigan. She was truly his soulmate and this was immediately apparent to Frank. Throughout their 34-year marriage, their love grew ever stronger as the years went by- always together, and always laughing. They enjoyed biking, yoga, traveling, wine tasting, and spending time at their lake house with family and friends. A love like theirs is rare and an inspiration to all. Always an entrepreneur from a young age, Frank worked hard to support his family and ultimately became the CEO of a successful company, Impact Environmental. He was a hands-on, out in the field boss who possessed an unmatched work ethic. He was always working, teaching, and connecting with his employees and customers who admired him and valued his expertise. Although Frank loved to work, his number one priority was his family. He was the quintessential father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, son-in-law, and brother-in-law. Everyone loved Frank and wanted to be around him. Any room Frank entered was lit up by his quick wit, infectious smile, humor, and storytelling prowess. The children in Frank’s family, especially his grandchildren, gravitated toward “the child whisperer.” They loved their ‘Papa’ and he loved them. Being with Nora and Luca became his favorite hobby and fascination in life. He lived to be with them. He will be deeply missed by the many who loved him. He leaves behind his loving wife, Karen Sall, his three children Dr. Lauren Sall (Charlie Peffley), Max Sall and Brenden Sall (Amanda O’Dell), grandchildren Nora and Luca Peffley, his mother, Gloria Sall, and his five sisters Laurie Sall, Diane Santori, Lynn Jimenez, Catherine Tulauskas, and Kristin Henry. He was predeceased by his father, Frank M. Sall, the former mayor of Lincoln Park. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please send donations to the charity for children, St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The viewing will be at Martenson Funeral home in Trenton, MI on Sunday, May 22nd from 2:00pm-8:00pm, with rosary at 6:00pm.
