Francisco 'Frank' Chavez, Jr.

Francisco (Frank) Chavez Jr, age 90, passed away peacefully in his home on June 11. He was the beloved husband of Sandra (Polomski) and predeceased by Beatriz (Bracamontes) and Virginia (Borza). He was the dear father of Beatriz (Zuniga), Patty (Duane) Crechiolo, Frank (Joanna), as well as step-children Michelle (Olson) and Jennifer (Cook). He was also the proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The only son out of seven children, Frank is survived by sisters Alexandria (Vasquez) and Ruth (Barrientez). Frank was a decorated World War II veteran and contributed to his community regularly, volunteering at All Saints Church in southwest Detroit and Wyandotte Hospital. He was also an active member of the Woodhaven Senior Club. Frank was always kind and generous and will be missed by countless family members and friends. Visitation is scheduled for Monday June 13th at Martenson Funeral Home (3200 West Rd, Trenton MI). Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday June 14th at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church (1540 Riverbank St, Lincoln Park, MI) with interment to follow at Woodmere Cemetery.
