Francis E. Hammac

Born in Ewing, Virginia, Francis was the oldest of 13 children born to Floyd & Cora Ayers. She married the love of her life, George Hammac in 1948. Sadly he preceded her in death in 1987. A dedicated homemaker, Francis also cooked for many years at various local restaurants including the Busy Bee and Harmony House. She was a member of the True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church. Francis enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking and gardening but her greatest joy in life was her family. Francis leaves to cherish her memory her children: George (Linda) Hammac of Monroe, Donna Peirce of Harrison and Van (Dionicia) Hammack of Monroe; two brothers: Wayne Ayers of Ewing, Virginia, Oscar Ayers of Morristown, Tennessee; two sisters Nancy Ellison of Tazwell, Tennessee and Jewell Cheek of Speedwell, Tennessee; as well as 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Francis was preceded in death by two sons: Larry Hammac, Ivan Hammock; two daughters: Yvonne Carpenter, Judy Ray and many brothers and sisters, Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
