Frances Jewel Trancygier

Age 91 of Trenton, Michigan passed away on February 13 at Southshore Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 21, 1916 in Ripley, Mississippi. Jewel was eldest child of Thomas Oscar Lockhart and Claudie Ethel (Moffitt) Lockhart. She is survived by one brother, Charles E. Lockhart (Mary Jo) of Ripley. Jewel Married Herman Givens who passed away in 1967. Nine years later, she married Victor Trancygier who passed in 1982. Jewel and Herman had three daughters: Mary Murphy (Bob) of Dunedin, FL; Fay Givens of Trenton, MI; and Kay McGowan (Blair) of Grosse Ile, MI. Jewel was the loving grandmother of eleven; Richard W. Kraepel, Kelly E. Machado, Timothy E. Kraepel, Robert Murphy, Marjory Keller, Jennifer Ricker, Thomas Campbell, Patrick Campbell, Kathleen McGowan, Daniel McGowan, and Michael McGowan. She was great grandmother of nineteen. She had many nieces and nephews in and around Ripley as well as Jimmy and Kenneth Lockhart of Flatrock and Lincoln Park respectively. Jewel Attended Mississippi Delta College majoring in Home Economics. She worked for thirty years as a seamstress and tailor for the J.L. Hudson Company in Detroit. She was a member of Christ the Good Shepard Parish in Lincoln Park for forty years.
