Evelina Enriquez Lopez, beloved wife of Romualdo Velasco Lopez Jr. A Filipino Immigrant, Retired Registered Nurse, a devout Catholic and devoted churchgoer who volunteered with church, charity and Filipino groups her entire life, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, but peacefully on Monday, December 19th. Besides her husband of 47 years, Evelina is survived by her three children, their spouses and grandchildren; Danilo and Jennifer Lopez, their two sons Gabriel and Alexander, Carolina Lopez and Darin Latimer and Cynthia Lopez and Kevin Quinlan. Evelina lived a life of joy, grace and prayer. While she was an enriching and loving presence in hundreds of lives, her convictions were fierce and sincere. Her greatest happiness was Family and Faith. Nothing made her happier than having her entire family sit down to dinner together. She and Romy frequently travelled to shrines and churches. She herself made the pilgrimage to Fatima and to Lourdes.. She has been active in and frequently hosted Prayer Groups. Her faith was a great solace in a life. She also made the best Pancit in the world. Although Evelina leaves behind a grieving family and scores of friends, her enviable life can only be seen as full and touched by grace. She spent the last Saturday night of her life at the annual Miso de Gallo event, that she and Romy helped plan. She was surrounded by family and friends and radiant with joy.
